Doug Steakley

Doug Steakley at Lake Nakuru


Doug is a professional photographer from Carmel, CA. He received a Master of Fine Art degree from Indiana University, and has received awards in many photography competitions, including National Geographic and the National Park Service, among others. His images reside in many corporate and private collections.

Doug supports and works closely with several land conservation groups. In 2003, he received the Ansel Adams Award from The Sierra Club for his conservation photography.

Many of Doug's distinct images range from the Monterey Peninsula where he lives. He also enjoys traveling and leads workshops to several international destinations including ones in Africa and Asia.
